I recently interviewed an artist and spoke to her regarding her journey. She is a teenager with amazing patience. Here's how our interview went.
Interviewer: Hello Akshara it's great having you here. Let's start with your journey as an artist! How did you start developing an interest in art?
interviewee: It was something that I enjoyed as a hobby, and I didn't pursue it until I joined my current school.
Interviewer: That's excellent! What were your success and failures?
Interviewee: I made a T-shirt design for my school. I also worked on a brochure which is still ongoing. I took in orders from other people.
Interviewer: Now that is a big leap. What about your failures?
Interviewee: Failures are that I am still new to this whole field and inexperienced, as art is a very vast topic it takes time to learn all the techniques.
Interviewer: I know about your brand it's called Established_04. Tell us a little more about it.
Interviewee: This was an idea which I came up after joining the school. What we started thinking was that I required a watermark for my digital work, and later I had this idea of having my brand. After nearly a year of brainstorming we came up with the name Established_04 and we started working on that.
Interviewer: Wow! That is amazing. What are the art forms you are looking at currently?
Interviewee: I do portraits, mainly I have been working on digital art as it is new and upcoming.
Interviewer: As we are on the topic of digital art. What do you prefer hand-drawn or digital?
Interviewee: I prefer hand-drawn actually, as I can be with the drawing and see what mistake I have done and how much pressure I need to put at certain points. Digital is a little more convenient and for my comfort factor, I do digital.
Interviewer: Are you interested in selling some of your artwork? I have seen a lot of your hoddies and T-shirt which you have printed and they are truly eye-catching.
Interviewee: Yes, currently I have a small scale selling unit where people come to me and buy the printed designs. For now, there are only selective people.
Interviewer: Now that note, here's the last question. What are you and your brand (Established_04)'s future?
Interviewee: This is basically for designs that people can get printed or I can have like a normal fashion house where you have the designs printed already and you can just buy them. I want to take it forward but baby steps because I want to see how this whole thing goes.
Interviewer: Wow Akshara that is so much of great work. Thank you for giving us your insights on the journey you have experienced and it is a unique journey. I admire and appreciate your efforts. Thank you, Akshara
Interviewee: Thank you Nirmayee.
